I have a problem. I’m plagued with a constant hankering for cheesecake and peach cobbler and chocolate icing. In other words, I have a serious sweet tooth.
After years of living with this malady, I’ve discovered a pattern. The more sweets I eat, the more I want to eat sweets.
I bet some of you have fallen victim to the same vicious cycle. The constant appetite for more poses a problem when it comes to sweets, doesn’t it? But when it comes to hungering for God’s Word, a big appetite is a good thing. Much like eating sweets, the more you indulge in God’s Word the more of God’s Word you will seek. And as you dig into your Bible, your relationship with Him will grow – leading to more joy and satisfaction in life!
I’ve developed a 5 Day Reading Plan to help you increase your desire for God’s Word. Each day lists a Scripture to read followed by a simple prayer. I’ve kept it short and sweet on purpose so that you can stick with it for the entire five days.
Here are 3 ways you can use the plan:
- A New Craving– If you want to read the Bible daily but don’t know where to begin, let this reading plan kick start a new habit. The readings are short, so you can easily finish them in under 2 minutes!
- A Rekindled Appetite – If you already read the Bible daily, add this simple guide to what you do for 5 days. Let God stir up a fresh hunger for His word through these pointed verses!
- A Prayer Guide– Maybe you have a loved one that you’ve been hoping would have an interest in God and His Word. Use the reading plan as a guide to pray the verses for that person. God might even show you a creative way to share the verses with them.
God promises to satisfy our hunger for Him. Commit to this plan for one work week and watch him deliver on that promise.
